Standing up for what you believe in isn't always easy.
The Day of Silence was today. I think a lot of people discovered that the hard way, and yeah, I was one of those assholes trying to get you to talk.
You douchebags who signed up for it so people will think you're better than you really are are a bunch of douchebags, and you assholes who did it just for the hell of it are a bunch of assholes.
Now, here's the thing: I'm all for equality. Everyone should have the same rights. What I'm NOT for is events like the Day of Silence, which do absolutely NOTHING for ANYONE. All it does is get some people persecuted for what they think, and others persecuted for what they don't. It's straight-up retarded. The squeaky wheel gets the grease; since when is being quiet a good way to get your point across?
Look around you. People are persecuted for their beliefs all the time. A lot of you got a taste of that today, but instead of sucking it up (like the people you're sticking up for do
every single day of their lives), you get on your MySpace and bitch about it. It's easy for you. You don't EVEN know what it's like. Not everyone has that luxury. Someone who's truly persecuted has noone to turn to; nobody to sympathize with them and say, "it's OK, things will be different next year." Someone who's truly persecuted puts up with 365x more of that than you do every year, but you all think you're SO FUCKING ENLIGHTENED because you wore a goddamn ribbon and ALMOST didn't say a word today.
You are the most naive, ridiculous people I know.
I hope the real world is more educational than anything you could ever learn in school.
