I'm updating. Firstly, I've decided that My Chemical Romance actually isn't a horrible band and emo music is teh sex. Okay fine I give up... I'm giving Jason his blog back... Jason who I hate... Here he is...

lol owned lololololol gg no re kthxbye :-))))))))))))))

I'm taking it back and Jason's not allowed to talk like that ever again or HIT THINGS ON MY WALL JASON. *glare glare glare*
And he can have it back if he promises to write good nice things.
He says he doesn... And not just hit publish? He says yes. Here's Jason... Who is going to be good.

I think it's gramatically improper to start a sentence with a conjunction.

I think that's not writing sweet and nice things. I think that's you writing about grammar because you SUCK FETUSES. And you hurt Sarah's trying to publish things that aren't nice. So my tooth and my boob both hurt. Let's try this again shall we? And you promise to write nice things ONLY?
He says yes he promises to write nice things only and not hit publish immediately.
Here's Jason back... again...

So then all of a sudden, one Tuesday a little more than one month ago - October the 3rd to be exact - I get called down to the office during a 6th-period study hall.

Well, they got me in a lot of trouble. They almost pressed criminal charges, but because I'm such a nerd, they decided not to. My principal says she took into account all the things I do for the school - because let's face it, I'm in a lot of extracurriculars.

Speaking of which, I'd like to divert for a second to tell you just exactly why I haven't been blogging so much lately. It's like this: I've been really busy. I'm in Wingin' It, quiz bowl, Shakespeare troupe, Boy Scouts, Model UN, and a Venture crew. Plus I have to juggle all my schoolwork this year, but it's proving to be very rewarding. In fact, I got a letter inviting me to an informational meeting about West Point, because apparently, I'm a prospective West Point cadet.

I've been thinking about it. I'm going to the presentation at least.

Anyway, so they pushed a form at me and told me to sign it. At first they were making all sorts of crazy accusations about attempting to breach network security and having an "unauthorized file" (they never specify what files are authorized or unauthorized, BTW), but a public school technology department is no match for the gauntlet of reason. They backed down when my dad went in to have a talk with them. When I left the office on Tuesday they said, "you might want to tell your dad what happened." Keep in mind, they didn't know my dad then. They'd never met him.

"Oh, yeah, I will. My dad's actually a sysadmin. I'm sure he'll understand."
"Yeah," said the school's admin, "he'll understand why you shouldn't have had that file."
I seriously lawled. They had no idea.

So he went in and basically told the admin for the entire district why his network was shit and how nobody who knew anything about network security would ever leave a SAM file on a machine.

In the end, the only thing they had on me was that I had used the network for "non-educational purposes". When I signed the Acceptable Use Policy, it specified that any network device was considered part of the network. OK, fair enough. But I got the file to further my own personal knowledge. Isn't that educational?

No, apparently not. Evidently, if something is not explicitly assigned by a teacher, it's non-educational.

I told them that I'd told my Cisco teacher about it when I found it, and then they got HIM in trouble, which I felt bad about, because for a few weeks, nobody could go into his room during their study halls to hang out and screw around with the computers. It blew over, though. I was happy about that.

I ended up doing a day of ISS and losing my computer priveleges for a month.

I fought the law...
